Yesteryear Collection

This 1930 Ford light delivery van, powered by a 4 cylinder engine is built on the 2.63m (103½ inch) model A chassis. Local companies supplied delivery vans under contract to Canada Post using a variety of body styles. The initials "GR" which flank the Canadian coat of arms on the van's body refer to George V, who was then King of England.

The Limited Edition Canada Post Ford was the fifth Model A Van to be released during 1984.
In 1984 the Canadian Post Corporation asked Matchbox for a special Yesteryear to sell through their branches. Those models were packed in a specially lettered box marked 'Exclusively from Canada' and 'Exclusente De Postes Canada'. Eventually the model was sold on a worldwide basis in standard boxes.

The model had a red body and a gloss or a matt black "Made in England" baseplate. It had brown seats and a black plastic roof and 24 spoke wheels with blackwall tyres.

Livery: (Tampo)
'POSTES CANADA POST' in white and multi-coloured Royal Shield, with 'G & R' in gold on both sides of van.

Variations/Rarities: Gloss or a matt black "Made in England" baseplate. There were no rare issues.

Interesting Facts: The sides displayed the Royal Crest of King George V.
